EARTH.SPEAKS 𐓷𐓘𐓻𐓘𐓻𐓟 and the virtual platform
EARTH.SPEAKS 𐓷𐓘𐓻𐓘𐓻𐓟 (Wah-Zha-Zhe, Osage) is a multi-year public art project featuring three earth-based artworks that trace the history of Osage displacement across Missouri, Oklahoma, and California. Each site is a living monument built from soil and story. ES is supported by the Osage Nation, including Osage Congress.
The project connects youth engagement, ecological knowledge, community building, somatic practice, and digital storytelling into a unified, land-rooted experience for Osage communities and beyond.
A companion digital platform extends the work through augmented reality, Osage language, and somatic scores — ensuring the project reaches those across the diaspora who cannot visit the physical sites, weaving together presence and memory, with an opportunity to create a living archive in relationship with the land.
The EARTH.SPEAKS platform uses augmented reality to hold stories, Osage language, somatic scores, and personal reflections — layering living culture onto physical sites of meaning to the Osage people.
For those unable to visit the public art sites physically, the app provides meaningful digital access — extending the project's reach across the Osage diaspora and beyond geographic boundaries.
Screen-dark intervals, breath prompts, and movement scores within the app invite users into somatic presence — bridging technology with body, land, and the living memory of place offering a variety of ways to engage to meet people where they are. An opportunity to create a new artwork of their experience and share it with a living archive completes the journey.
